Project Management:
The ACEC defines Project Management as: the comprehensive management of
a multidisciplinary team, in order to plan, control and implement all
aspects and activities from the initial feasibility study and planning
to completion of construction and commissioning of a project within the
Owner's schedule, quality, cost and performance objectives. Project
management can be accomplished by the delegation of authority to the
Project Manager on a global or partial basis depending on the degree of
delegation the Owner deems necessary to meet his wishes or preferences
in the implementation of his project.
Tectonica Management Inc. provides a comprehensive array of Project
Management services through which the Owner benefits directly from the
varied architectural, engineering, construction, and feasibility
experience of its partners. This unique combination of experience
benefits the Owner by focusing the efforts of the design team members on
a design centered yet cost responsible approach to design and
construction detailing.
It is our strong belief that a successful project is a direct product of
early and continuing communication between a client, their Project
Manager and their properly selected professional team. This
communication generates a strong trust based relationship between all
parties as well as a general sense of ownership in the success of the
project. It is this synergy that we strive to extend through
construction to ensure timely, thoughtful, and financially responsible
resolutions to the inevitable surprises that typically challenge a project.
As your Project Manager Tectonica Management Inc. works diligently to
ensure that the project's design intent is carried throughout the
construction process while remaining balanced against the projects
financial objectives. We work closely with our client, the project
design professionals and all members of the construction team to ensure
that the end product is viewed as a success from all vantage points.
As an added benefit, and when appropriate to the Owners objectives,
Tectonica Management Inc can also provide Construction Management
Services to facilitate the physical construction of the project in
addition to managing the overarching design and control process
described above.

Construction Management:
Construction Management is a construction procurement method whereby the
general contractor is replaced by a Construction Manager who acts as the
Owners Agent rather than as an independent contractor. Under this type
of construction procurement, the traditional roles of and relationship
between the Owner and the General Contract disappear. The Owner engages
the Trade Contractors directly and thereby assumes much of the role and
responsibility of the traditional general or prime contractor. The
Construction Manager works in conjunction with the Owner and the
Consultant (Architect or Engineer) as part of the Construction
Management Team which works together from the Pre-Construction (design
development) stage through to the completion of the Project. The
Construction Manager serves as the Owner's advisor and agent, providing
site management, and administrative and technical services solely for
the benefit of the Owner and in the furtherance of the Owners interests.
While it is generally accepted that Construction Management procurement
allows the construction of the project to start earlier relative to the
level of completion in the construction documents and specifications we
feel that the greater benefit to the Owner is the ability to balance,
during construction and without significant penalty, the construction
documents and specifications, the schedule and the budget with the
Owner's developing understanding of their needs and wants while
maintaining control over budget and schedule through creative design
based solutions.
